Rotherham’s New York Stadium is set to host four games at the Women’s Euros next year, with the first three revealed with last night’s draw.
France, Italy, Belgium and Iceland, will each play at least one game in Rotherham as the town hosts the Women’s Euros Group D next summer. All four of these teams are ranked in FIFA’s top 20.
The New York Stadium will also be the venue of a Quarter Final match between the winner of Group D and the Group C runner up.
France are the favourites to top the group and are expected to play in the Quarter Final in Rotherham.
As the host nation England were guaranteed a spot in Group A and will play all their matches in the south of the country, starting in Brighton.
England will be joined by Austria, Norway and Northern Ireland in the group stages of the tournament.
The Lionesses will play Austria in their first match of the tournament and will hope to live up to expectations.
The first match in Rotherham United’s New York Stadium will be on Sunday 10 July 2022. Tickets are now available.
