A man whose death launched a murder investigation has been named as 43-year-old Kevin David Caster.

Detectives arrived at a property in Catcliffe on Tuesday 19 October at 9.56pm after reports of a man being seriously injured inside a property in High Hazel Crescent, Rotherham.

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, Mr Caster was pronounced dead in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

A 43-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday and has since been bailed.

Kevin’s family are being supported by specially trained officers and they ask that their privacy be respected at this incredibly difficult time.

Detective Inspector, John Fitzgibbons, said: “The initial post mortem examination has proved inconclusive so we will now await the results of further tests which will determine the exact cause of Kevin’s death.

“If anyone does have any information, I encourage you to share this with us. We are currently supporting his family at this devastating time – my thoughts go out to them.”

If you have any information contact the police via live chat or by calling 101 and quote the incident number to 974 of 19 October.
